Here we have an absolutely fantastic example of a Rolex Bubble Back Ref. 5050 in true original condition.

The case diameter is approx 30mm not including the crown, however the watch appears bigger due to the large dial size with less casing width surrounding it.

The case is in its original condition and does show clear signs of wear throughout, but with the watch being 70+ years old the character formed by these signs of wear only adds to the aesthetic.

The dial has taken on a truly stunning patina, supported by perfectly clean and crisp lettering.

The screw down crown reads 'Rolex Oyster'

The caseback is engraved 'Capt I.K.W Hill 219514'

The movement is in very good condition for its age and runs nicely.

I have put a generic brown lizard strap on the watch which compliments the dial very well.
